Choose the right film specification

Start with the job you want the film to do. Compare glare reduction and screen protection, then check the details that matter for your display or project.

Email Maria for help with your enquiry.

Two different priorities

  1. Anti glare: distracting surface reflections
  2. Screen protection: physical surface protection
  3. Both: check the proposed product with us

Before you choose

Anti glare film is intended to reduce distracting reflections on a compatible display surface. Screen-protection film addresses a different need. Choose the film type around your screen, lighting and intended use, and confirm the specification for the product being supplied.

Anti glare or screen protection?

  • Anti glare film: consider this where reflected windows or room lighting make content harder to see.
  • Impact protection film: discuss this where protection of a compatible screen surface is the priority.
  • Both requirements: ask us about the proposed film and arrangement before ordering. Do not assume every film provides both functions.

What to check before ordering

Send the display make, model and exact width and height in millimetres. Mention any existing matte finish, anti reflective coating, touch function or curved surface. Film suitability must be checked against the actual surface, rather than the screen size alone.

A photograph of the screen from your usual viewing position helps explain the reflection problem. Include the windows, lights or neighbouring displays that may be reflected. Where appearance is critical, ask whether a sample assessment is appropriate.

Ask for product-specific technical information

If your project requires a particular hardness, operating temperature, light transmission, haze level, UV performance or impact rating, send that requirement with your enquiry. Ask for the relevant data and test method for the film being quoted before specifying it.

There is no single percentage reduction that describes every combination of film, display and lighting. A film can change the appearance of reflections and displayed content. Check its effect under the conditions in which the screen will actually be used.

Fitting, cleaning and removal

Follow the instructions supplied for your film and the display manufacturer’s guidance. Confirm the fitting method, edge clearances, cleaning products and removal precautions before starting. Film does not turn an indoor television into a weatherproof outdoor display.
